Haere ra to Chava

We're getting ready to farewell our coach from Spain, “the man” Salvador Gomez Aguera or Chava as he's known. He will be heading back to Spain after the U18 Nationals where he is coaching the women.

Chava has been involved with every age group since arriving in Auckland in February including overseeing our Sunday morning skills clinics for our younger players. He said the enthusiasm shown with the young kids makes him love the sport more. “They are keen to learn everything and play at 100% all the time. Their minds work overtime when in the pool and they try to do everything at once – such a great culture here at North Harbour. I hope the young children continue to enjoy this game, make lots of friends and play this great game for many years.

”In case you didn't already know - Chava is a five time olympian who played for the Spanish National side for 20 years.  He's the proud owner of gold and silver Olympic medals and we are hoping he will bring them with him next time he returns to our club - and on behalf of everyone at our club we want to say a huge gracias for all he's done for our players and coaches. You are a true gentleman with a contagious smile. Thank you Chava.
